Question: Will Trim work well on my ICH8R chipset? Has it been tested?
My system: ICH8R chipset, Asus Commando, Vista 32b.
Intended purchase: Intel X25M 160GB G2 (Postville, 34nm)Intended firmware + software: 02HD, SSD Toolbox 1.2
Context information: PCperspective reported that Trim would not work well with ICH8M (notebook chipset):

I dunno about that PCPER article, seems like a load of FUD to me. I'm running Win7 with standard MS drivers on Dell m1330(ICH8M) and 160gb G2, my read speed still averages 240mb/s with 1mb blocks in HD Tune. Looks like TRIM works just fine for me.
P.S. For funsies, I ran AS SSD before and after running optimization in Intel SSD Toolbox, the results were virtually the same, gaining only 5 points in the overall score which is pretty much within error margin. Wasted 10gb of host writes on this, too

Can you post your AS SSD screen?
I would like to see the performace we can get in a laptop with ich8m.
