Hi,
I and most of the people I speak to don't have (and haven't for a considerable amount of time). When attempting, to use Rufus when creating a USB from the ISO we get a kernel not loaded error when attempting to boot into the tool. Any help would be appreciated as the drives were working fine until windows decided to block the drivers from being used.

What os are you installing?
what motherboard / set up are you using and what ssd - guess its a rufus issue
previously I downloaded the iso and created a boot usb. Then from usb installed to ssd. Sometimes it's worth re downloading everything as if theres an error it might not work
could also be data transmission error

Dear ozdeadmeat,
Thank you for reaching out. It seems the issue you're experiencing with Rufus and the kernel not loading could be related to driver incompatibilities or blocks by Windows.
To work around this, you can use Ubuntu to boot from a USB stick and run Solidigm Storage Tool (SST) without installing it on your system. Here’s a step-by-step process:
Most of the following are steps 1-4 from the Install Ubuntu desktop guide, though we will not install Ubuntu, only "Try".

Non-Persistent

This process uses Ubuntu 24.04 with a 16GB USB.
This should allow you to bypass any driver restrictions or blocks by Windows while running the SST.
If you need further assistance or have questions about the process, feel free to let us know.
Best regards,
Gleb
