Why are Windows 7 users running the toolbox optimizer when the readme file explicitly states that for win7 this is not needed. The only case for running the optimizer toobox for WIN 7 is if you are using the Intel Matrix Storage Manager 8.x driver or any driver that does not support the (TRIM) command:
The readme says page 13:
"If your PC uses Microsoft Window 7 and the standard Microsoft AHCI driver(the DEFAULT setup for nomral configurations without RAID), the Intel SSD Optimizer will work; however, you do not need to use the Intel SSD optimizer because Microsoft Windows 7 implments the ATA Data Set Management Command (TRIM) natively."

You can benchmark your SSD with a utility especially designed for SSD's: http://www.alex-is.de/PHP/fusion/downloads.php
Post a pic of what you get and we'll see how it looks.

Yes, running in AHCI with msahci.sys default driver in Windows 7 should have TRIM running automatically.

I'm running w7 x64 with AHCI mode enabled in the BIOS.
Is there any way to check that TRIM is running without a bench test ?

You could use CrystalDiskInfo, which shows if TRIM is supported with your SSD. The firmware should be sufficient to know if TRIM is running; for example, 02HD means TRIM firmware is installed, which should indicate TRIM is there to accept the command.

I think that the answer is "apparently not."
