Lenovo M57 small form factor, E8200 cpu, W7 Pro 64 bit.
Just purchased an S3510 800gb ssd. It will not seen in the bios' drive 0 spot like the 320-series 300gb I've been using. In the boot order it shows under pci scsi. AHCI is enabled. Tried disabled, won't boot. There aren't many bios options on the M57, I tried them all.
I have two laptops, one older than the M57, one newer. The S3510 is detected in the bios in both in drive 0.
I'm puzzled why it won't be detected in the drive 0 slot in the M57 but will in the others and why the 320-series will in the M57.
Tried swapping sata cables & positions, Intel Tool Kit, Lenovo system update. Everything is as up to date as possible.
Installed W7on the s3510. It boots as scsi and runs ok, just not as quick as an ssd should in the ide hdd position, nor as quick as the 320-series 300gb. Something's not right.
Any ideas from the Intel detectives? Thanks

Hello BRoub1,
Thank you for contacting Intel® Memory & Storage Support.
As we understand, you need assistance with your Intel® SSD DC S3510 Series. If we infer correctly we will appreciate if you can provide us with the following information:
• The SSU logs.
1- Go to
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/25293/
and download the software.
2- When finished downloading it, open it.
3- Attach the file obtained to your reply.
• A screenshot of the “Disk Management” of windows showing all your HDDs and partitions.
• We advise you to contact Lenovo* in order to open a ticket in parallel with them to discard any hardware limitation/incompatibility.
Based in the information you provided your PC is a Lenovo* ThinkCentre M57 (https://support.lenovo.com/cr/en/solutions/migr-68844) if we inferred correctly the issue could be related to the SATA interface speed, based in the “Product Brief for the Intel® Q35 Express Chipset” (https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-briefs/q35-chipset-brief.pdf) page 3.
Serial ATA 3 Gb/s
• The faster transfer rate for improved data access. Full SATA interface speed outside the chassis, up to 3 Gb/s.
If we compared the Intel® SSD 320 Series and the Intel® SSD DC S3510 Series (https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/compare.html?productIds=56567,86199) we can notice the difference in the interface:
Interface SATA 3.0 3Gb/S (Intel® SSD 320 Series) SATA 3.0 6Gb/S (Intel® SSD DC S3510 Series)
This can be one of the reasons why your PC is not able to recognize the Intel® SSD DC S3510 Series.
We will be looking forward to your reply including this information in case further assistance is required.
Best regards,
Josh B.
