Is it safe to overwrite free/unallocated space on an Intel SSD 670p?

I am aware of the limitations when it comes to sanitizing SSDs and wouldn't rely on this if I were to part with the device. EaseUS has a good program but I'm also considering just using cipher.exe since it's Windows integrated and less likely to break anything.
Thoughts?
