Does the DC P3700 work in a PCI-e 2.0 slot?

Hello,

We are looking at getting some of the DC P3700 PCI-e 3.0 add in cards for some servers at work. Do you know if they work on PCI-e 2.0 slots? I thought it would be backwards compatible, but I read a review that it wasn't. Is there any official word?

Thank you.

Hello donflamenco, the Intel® DC P3700 supports PCI Express 2.0 but performance will be reduced.

Hello Joe,

Great. Thank you for the confirmation. We are excited to get them in and try them out.

Thanks again,

Rob

Do note that a uEFI 2.3.1 supporting bios is required. See the installation guide https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23929&lang=eng Intel® Download Center

Thanks Warren,

Do you know if I need a system with UEFI 2.3.1 to support the DC3700 if I DON'T need it to boot?

We are fine with booting off of our normal harddrives, and want to use the DC3700 for db files.

I'm trying to get the SSDPEDMD400G401 working on a PCI-e 2.0 system and don't have any luck yet. We are running RHEL6.5.

Thanks,

Rob
