D7-PS1030 E3.S cannot update to G75G150?

I have 2 D7-PS1030 E3.s drives behind a Dell H975i controller. They intermittently go missing. The only way to revive them is to shutdown the Dell R6725 server.

They are on firmware G100. I want to update them go G150, but SST reports the drive is on it's latest firmware. But the 2.6 Solidigm Storage Tool release notes say that G75YG150 is the latest firmware for this drive? I can't get it to update. Please help because i can't use these (expensive) drives like this.

Note they are Solidigm drives, not Dell OEM.

Dear Knuppel,

Thank you for contacting us.

For D7-PS1030 E3.S, firmware availability in the Solidigm Storage Tool can depend on the exact variant and platform configuration. In some cases, even if a newer firmware version is listed in documentation, it may not yet be distributed via SST for certain E3.S models or environments, which is why the tool reports your current firmware as “up to date.”

Please ensure you are using the latest version of the Solidigm Storage Tool. If possible, also test the drive without the H975i controller layer, as controller environments can sometimes affect update handling and visibility.

If the issue continues, we recommend opening a support case so we can review your exact drive details and setup:
https://support.solidigm.com/en-US/anonymous-createcase/

If you do so, please include system details, controller information, and SMART logs from SST.

Best regards,
Gleb
