Dear Ji,
Thank you for contacting Solidigm. We would like to inform you that the PlayStation 5 requires a generation 4 SSD and needs to meet minimum specs. (You can find more information in this article).
Regarding Solidigm products, you can use P44 model, this drive matches spects and has been tested on PlayStation 5.
Additionally, as the PS5 is a Sony product, you can contact Sony directly for their specs and get information about the models of the drives that the PlayStation supports.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Kind regards,
Gleb

hi jj,
this is because its a gen three drive and not nvme g4 so get a newer drive and it should work ok. But I guess its a PlayStation issue it will come up with an error if you don't have a compatible drive and will shutdown the console guess this happened to you.
