Intel X-25E RAID1 WS2k3 ?

Hi,

i got a WS2k3 and an EX-4350 Raid Controller.

Currently there are 2 HDDs on it.

I want to put 2 Intel X-25E (SSDSA2SH032G101) in a RAID1 on it.

AFAIK TRIM doesn´t get through RAID Controllers and WS2k3 even don´t support TRIM.

Does the Intel X-25E have Garbage Collection?

I heard that in RAID1 i should let about 15% of free space during RAID creation, is that right?

The SSD won´t get the OS on it, just a Database.

Plz just tell me, if the Intel X-25 E keeps it performance while using GC (Wear Leveling).

Because the Operating System (Windows Server 2003 Standard R2) won´t be changed as well as the Mainboard.
