I know you guys don't like to discuss benchmarks, but how about developing an Intel desktop gadget that shows read and write speed utilisation with details of queue depth and available space? There are plenty of gadgets that show utilisation of RAM & CPU's etc. but there is not a good one for storage.
It would be useful if the gadget could also show the firmware version and driver and indicate if TRIM is working.

There is a Windows 7 desktop gadget currently available that can capture/display a set of SSD TRIM-related metrics: google/bing "SSD TRIM metrics gadget"
