Hello Bidwellm,
The Intel® SSD 750 Series should work as data drive even if the motherboard does not support UEFI* 2.3.1. Please remember that you must use a supported Operating System, the motherboard must support PCIe* Gen3 x4 and have a compatible connector (SFF-8639 or Single slot x4 connector).
Our SSD's are designed according to international standards, however, it is advised to check with the motherboard manufacturer if your system has any limitations or known issues regarding NVMe PCIe drives.
If you require further information, please let us know the motherboard brand, model and BIOS version.
For additional details, you can refer to the http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-specifications/ssd-750-spec.pdf Intel® Solid-State Drive 750 Series Product Specification.

Hello,
got the same question, my bios doesn't support UEFI. Will the 750 or DC P3500/3600/3700 work as a secondary data drive? Chipset is Intel C222 with 3 pci-e slots (2xPCI Express Gen3 x4, 1xPCI Express Gen3 x8). CPU is Intel Haswell E3-1240 v3.
-Thanks-

I have used the 750 on two different systems that do not support UEFI and use PCI 2 as a data drive without a problem. One was windows 7 and the other windows 2012 server.

As noted by bidwellm, the Intel PCIe NVMe SSDs might work as secondary drives in some systems that do not meet all the recommended requirements; however, we cannot guarantee that the drive will work according to specifications.
Some systems may not be compatible with PCIe NVMe drives, so we strongly advise you to check with the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm computer manufacturer support if your system has any limitations or known issues regarding this type of drives.
I would like to mention that for workstation or server systems, you should look for drives of the https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/intel-ssd-dc-family-for-pcie.html Intel® SSD Data Center Family for PCIe*. Since they have the features required for enterprise/data center storage.
