Slow sequential write on Intel 330 SSD

Using Intel SSD 330 60GB & 335 240GB on Windows 7 64bit. The 335 on SATA III gets 492MB/s Read & 232MB/s write, the 335 on SATA II gets 245MB Read & 199MB/s write, however on the On the 330 on SATA II get 259MB/s read 64MB/s with 1 2 3 levels cache

I have AHCI enable and Using Intel SSD 330 60GB & 335 240GB on Windows 7 64bit. The 335 on SATA III gets 492MB/s Read & 232MB/s write, the 335 on SATA II gets 245MB Read & 199MB/s write, however on the On the 330 on SATA II get 259MB/s read 64MB/s tried with 1 2 3 levels cache

I use As SSD Benchmark for results.

Operating System

MS Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1

CPU Intel Core i3 370M @ 2.40GHz

Arrandale 32nm Technology

Toshiba Mobile Board L655

Hard Drives

234GB INTEL SSDSC2CT240A4 (SATA-SSD)

INTEL SSDSC2CT060A3 (ATA-SSD)

I get the results on SATA port on Toshiba motherboard or on eSATA cable

All drives are aligned and Intel RST loaded.

What can I change?

Hello Dreamwork.Nico,

As we understand, the performance results you are getting in your system are lower than you expected. Please consider the following information about this matter:

- The Performance results mentioned in the http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-specifications/ssd-330-specifica... Intel® Solid-State Drive 330 Series Product Specification are obtained under standard testing conditions. You will get different results if the system does not meet the requirements for optimal operation of the drive, or if the tool does not allow the test configuration that takes advantage of the SSD capabilities.

- We cannot refer to the results obtained with AS SSD since it is not a tool we use to monitor drive performance and may not allow proper test configuration. The tests were performed using http://www.iometer.org/ IOmeter*, for Sequential tests, you should use Queue Depth 32 and a block size of 128KB, among other standard configurations.

- Testing is performed using SATA 6 Gb/s, we cannot guarantee any results using SATA 3 Gb/s.

There are a few things you can do to discard any problems in the drive functionality:

- Contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support and make sure you have an updated BIOS for your system, also confirm you have the most recent iRST driver installed.

- Download and install the most recent https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18455/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Toolbox Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox, version 3.3.2. Use this tool to update the firmware of your drive, and also perform the Intel® SSD Optimizer tool.

Thank You jonathan_intel I wil do the IOmeter tests. I do believe I had latest BIOS, Firmware and latest INTEL stable drivers for my motherboards loaded. my main concern is the On the 330 which on SATA II and III get 259MB/s read 66/64MB/s tried with 1 2 3 levels cache by hardwar esettings Intel optimizer turning of superfecth & prefecth makes it much slower! Let you know!
