I just installed a 530 SSD in my mid-2009 MBP. It seems to be working fine. I figured I should update the firmware, but I am unable to get the Intel® SATA Solid-State Drive Firmware Update Tool version 2.0.9 to work. I burned the ISO using both a Mac and a Win7 machine. In both cases it appears to burn correctly, but when I boot from either disc, I get a "no bootable device" message.
After searching the forums a bit, I tried unpacking issdfut_2.0.9.iso to check for iSSDFUT.exe, but it is not present in the ISO. Here's the contents of the ISO. I have downloaded it and unpacked it on two separate Macs and a Win7 PC and I see the same thing. I downloaded the ISO from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?agr=Y&DwnldID=18363 Download Center
CONTENTS
initrd
vmlinuz
isolinux (directory)
isolinux\boot.cat
isolinux\isolinux.bin
isolinux\isolinux.cfg
licenses (directory with tons of folders with license files in them)
Is the contents of the ISO correct? Is there something else I am supposed to be doing to update the firmware for my Intel 530 SSD in my mid-2009 MBP? Thanks!

Hi all,
We are getting closer to a fix for the issue concerning the inability to update the FW on some Macbooks. We are rolling this fix and several other fixes and product updates into the next release. The schedule for release has not been confirmed. I'll update this thread when I have a confirmed release date.

Hi,
I would like to confirm that I have the same problem on my SSD Intel 530. I would like to update via USB (only IDE mode on ASUS 1201N) but it's impossible to do via USB (issdfut_2.0.10.iso), the SSD is detected like that: "SSD = 0 GIG, firmware DC22 is up to date"
???
I wait here for a fix.
Thanks for your support.

Hi All,
The new version of the Firmware Update Tool (FUT) is finally available. You can download it at:
https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=18363&lang=eng&ProdId=3790 Intel® Download Center
We have tested it on older MacBooks and other systems with Nvidia chipsets and it will allow you to update the firmware on you SSD.
This version of the tool also resolves issues with the Mac Mini USB keyboard and mouse.
I want to be clear that this is really only a change to the FUT tool itself. I can't say that this will address the reports of periodic high activity or slow response on these systems.
We have not been able to find satisfactory solutions to these reported issues.
