Hello, while I tested few NVMe SSDs inside TB3 boxes having DCH 987 driver (OWC Express 4M2, UNIBOS Portable SSD x4) with NUC10 kit, ONLY Intel 660p (fw:004C updated from 002C) fails almost always while detection/enabling it. Problem occurs only with latest MS nvmestor driver update in mentioned KB, so simply generic driver changes make him less reliable, but as other disks from different manufacturers are working well, bug is also in your drive. It was 2 days ago reported also to MS over FeedbackHub already. Please fix it working together with MS, tnx.

"Mercury Helios 3" (not new 3S) enclosure and ASUS "Hyper M.2 x16 Card V2"
Very curious - is that the combination - OWC Helios PLUS ASUS Hyper M.2 ?
I first bought the Asus Hyper M.2 card and 4 Intel 660p, but then later understood I need mainboard supporting VROC - so Asus card was just a waste until I buy new desktop/motherboard...
Does this mean that I could put ASUS Hyper M.2 x16 inside Mercury Helios 3(S)" and get four Intel 660p working like that ??
Well, after all drivers/firmware issues have been solved....

umm, I am in fact not sure yet, so will test it tomorrow, but VROC seems to be some kind of overkill hardware assisted RAID usable only with intel chipset and SSDs(?):

as I understood thunderbolt3 for now, it simply exposes PCIe bus over solid and dedicated "usb-c"-like-cable (rather max 0,5m at 40GBs) so I only "expect" now that ASUS card will be working and by default splits wide PCIe x16 bus into four PCIe x4 NVMe M.2 slots, where OS detects separate pci devices, as-is inside Express 4M2 (where his PCIe 4x splits only to PCIe x1 unfortunatelly) and Win10 Disk Manager allow to combine such independent (any manufacturer) disks into single stripped (soft)RAID 0 volume. So now I am curious, really )) ... Express 4M2 works well this way although slightly slower because of 1-lane per disk bottleneck. TB3 40GBs seems to be "quite" good speed for 4 parallel NVMe drives, still not saturating them, thats true.
If you want to try those 4 Intel 660p in Asus card, then I expect uninstalling of KB4571756 with problematic stornvme driver can help as BSOD was caused by that KB only. (dont forget to pause updates, as its pushed again...)

Hi, so its easy, no luck with ASUS, as you were right - its only passive board made solely for Intel VROC and AMD Threadpiper. May be it can work in some MB with PCIE "bifurcation" support in BIOS. Thats probably the reason it was so cheap ... okay

Well, slow progress ... as NUC10 downloads contains APTIO BIOS TOOLS, and here in manual is something about bifurcation for x8x4x4, then it seems that passive ASUS carrier will work having max 3 SSDs. We will see...
