Intel 600p SSD problem with TRIM

Available:

ASUS_PRIME_Z270_P

M. 2 x 4 PCI-Express 3.0 Intel SSD 128 Gb SSDPEKKW128G7X1 600p

Windows 7 SP1 + hotfix for NVMe

Driver: Standard controller NVM Express (stornvme.sys)

Question.

Can not understand, running TRIM or not. When you restart, after a short wait, TrimCheck displays the following:

" First 16 bytes: AE 41 07 45 6C 5F 27 38 EC 17 A0 84 21 52 38 9F...

Data is neither unchanged nor empty.

Possible cause: another program saved data to disk,

overwriting the sector containing our test data.

CONCLUSION: INDETERMINATE.

Re-run this program and wait less before verifying / try to

minimize writes to drive C:."

Codes in the "First 16 bytes:" are constantly the same, instead of 00. What's the problem?

We tested one of our SSD 600p (256GB), which speeds are different, and we could confirm that running the test, we saw almost the same sequential write speed than the one you have.Keep in mind that for the SSD 256GB the sequential write speed is 540MB. We were getting around 333MB.The sequential read speed was really good in our, in fact as well as your SSD, meaning that the problem is not seen with the read speed.We are currently requesting the same SSD you have (128GB) to run the tests; we will keep you updated.Regards,Nestor C

Hi Wildcat55,

We have run the same performance test, with just the installation of the operating system, and the results are way better when using Windows® 10.

It is also important to mention that it is clearly that when running the SSD in Windows* 7 (That does not come with NVMe* native driver) the performance is not the best. Also, keep in mind when running the performance tests for the SSD, we did not test Windows* 7, we used Windows® 10.

Here is a screenshot of the same drive running Windows® 10:

As you can see, the sequential write speed is above of what is expected, before we were getting around 333MB/s, but on Windows® 10, the sequential write speed is now 583MB/s.

Hello,

It is clear that this SSD store is made under Windows 10 OS. Not it is clear why users of Windows 7 were deprived, and it is big sector of the market.

The workaround we have for the SSD 600p in Windows* 7 is for the drive to be used with this operating system, but the performance is not going to be the same due to the inbox driver that this version of Windows* does not include.You can also ask Microsoft* if they have plans to develop an NVMe* driver for Windows* 7, that way, it could improve the performance.Regards,Nestor C
