I have a brand new Intel SSD 545s Series, 512GB. I'm running Windows Server 2016.
Every once in a while the entire system freezes. At that moment the HDD activity LED is continuously on.
Pressing the reset button on the case does not help, because the SSD is not visible to the system until I turn the power off and then on again.
Is there a solution to this problem?
I also tried installing Rapid Storage Technology drivers (thought it might help), but the installation fails.

I have no RAID, and generally I can live without RST drivers, but I would really like to solve the freezing problem.

We understand that you're experiencing freeze issues on your system.Just for you to know, since you're not setting up a RAID volume, installing Intel® Rapid Storage Technology is not required.We would like to check your SSD SMART details. To do so, please use the export feature on https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27527/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Toolbox?product=80096 Intel® SSD Toolbox and attach the report to your next reply. The tool is not validated for Windows Server 2016*, but all we need is the resulting file.The same could be said for the drive, this is a consumer SSD used on a server environment. The drive SMART details reflect its health is intact. The issue could be caused by a corruption on the operating system or by some other component.
Please backup your data, https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000006198/memory-and-storage.html secure erase the data on the drive and reinstall the operating system.
