I tried to update the FW and it failed, saying I should boot up in legacy IDE mode (I'm using ahci). I rebooted in IDE mode, and then when it came to updating the firmware, it said the firmware was already updated. Anyone else have this problem?

So has anyone got a concrete answer to this?
Did the Update work even though there was no visible update "process" and it said to try again?
-or-
Is it now just reporting incorrectly that the firmware got updated?
Which is it? And if it's the latter, what's the fix?

So has everyone been successful in running ssd optimizer - because I get an error message. I'm starting to think that Intel have stuffed up again here.

I tried everything I could find on fixing my drive, as when it is in the system, it causes my system to totally freeze up. Tried settings, tried firmware updates, tried different SATA slots.
So I contacted Support back in December, about a replacement or a refund, and was told they couldn't do a replacement, and to send a copy of my receipt to see if they could do a refund.
After several attempts to get an answer I just go this.
The refund was denied. The reason for the denial is that the drive was manufactured before the Trim technology was available, no refund can be performed.
So I have a $239 SSD drive that they won't replace or refund. What a nice paper weight.
Intel, your a bunch of F'in Aholes.

Still haven't heard from Intel. I don't think I've ever had customer service so bad that they don't respond to emails.
