trim on raid 0 with x79?

Various tech sites such as Anandtech have an article up about the fact that with the newest RST software that Raid 0 and trim is supported.

Is this available for X79? The X79 of course uses RSTe which has a different version number to the normal RST and the articles do not mention anything about X79 at all

there is a new bios out for the asus rampage extreme that includes a new (3.5) orom. i wish someone at intel would give us a clue re what we x79 users would need in terms of specific orom/drivers to have trim under raid...

Unfortunately, RSTe RAID OROM 3.5.0.1005 TRIM on RAID-Array still not working. I just tested it on my X79 system

Even the RAID OROM 11.6.0.1702 TRIM on RAID-Array is not working on my Z68 system

Edit: I used Fernando's Easy TRIM Test ---> http://www.station-drivers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4023 http://www.station-drivers.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=4023

As another x79 owner that's left with a more expensive processor and system board only to get a less-capable RAID controller I have to say I'm not entirely pleased. A website quoting a rumor of future TRIM support doesn't help - keep in mind that the initial TRIM rumors for RST came 9 months before Intel actually shipped it, and then only did so with their new system boards, but of course not their high end boards.

What's doubly frustrating is the lack of input from Intel on what to expect here. I read that TRIM was finally supported so I recently bought a second SSD and am currently reinstalling Windows, only to find that once again I'm left without a usable solution. That's my fault, I should have done further research, etc etc, but shame on Intel for not making this happen and not letting their users know if or when it will happen.

@Fernando

Is it safe to mod and flash 11.6.0.1702 OROM on my X79 board? Does it support TRIM on RAID-array? TIA

@drollenra I can confirm the results of your testing. Modded latest ASUS P9x79WS BIOS with the 3.5.0.1005 OROM, performed a fresh install of win7 ultimate, and loaded Fernando's modded drivers here: http://www.win-lite.de/wbb/board195-windows-7/board198-win7-treiber/15558-gemoddete-intel-ahci-und-r... http://www.win-lite.de/wbb/board195-windows-7/board198-win7-treiber/15558-gemoddete-intel-ahci-und-r...

This failed the Easy TRIM Test (also from Fernando) posted above.
