Getting that error while trying to update the firmware. Was there any solution to this yet? Ive tried in IDE mode and AHCI mode. And updating my bios to the latest one. I have win 7 ultimate. Just installed. Asus m4a78 pro motherboard. Thanks in advance. Oh I should mention I have the intel x25-m 80 g2.

Then forget about it! Its not going to work. I have an Nvidia card in my Mac Mini and I'm in exactly the same bullshit situation you are in. Goto the intel section where you downloaded your firmware update. There is a .PDF document. Open it and read what it says about Nvidia.
I have to now search for some old junk of a PC someplace as my current PC has an Nvidia graphics card too.

I could be wrong but I think it has to deal with the nvidia chipset and not the video card,
