Hey guys....
I'm trying to run HDDERASE to wipe my drive, but having burned this programme to disk, it won't load. All I get is a blank screen with a flashing underscore at the top left corner. I have an ASUS P6T Deluxe v2 Mobo....and dont know if there is a known compatibility issue with these? Could anyone please shed some light on how to get this programme to run? I seem to have done the essentials - set to IDE and Legacy in the BIOS but to no avail??
Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers and Merry Christmas to all of you...

You should download the older v3.3 of HDDErase (size: 70 KB) and copy it onto an MS DOS or Windows 95/98/ME start floppy disk.
Here are the details and a download link: http://www.iishacks.com/index.php/2009/06/30/how-to-secure-erase-reset-an-intel-solid-state-drive-ss... http://www.iishacks.com/index.php/2009/06/30/how-to-secure-erase-reset-an-intel-solid-state-drive-ss...

Fernando,
Thanks very much! I was already trying to use version 3.3, but was burning the image to cd, not copying it to boot disk!
Hopefully I can now get this programme to work.
Cheers again

If you have software capable of editing an ISO image you can replace the v4.0 EXE with v3.3 and then burn your CD but if you have a floppy drive it's probably the easiest option.

Ziggy,
Thanks for this info, I wasnt aware this could be done? Im guessing its just version 4 that is compatible with booting from CD?
Actually, I dont have a floppy drive, but have ordered one. Just out of curiosity tho, what software is good for editing iso's?
Cheers!
