I've been on many forums, and the answer doesnt seem absolutely clear to me. I'm running W7 64bit with an X-25 M Intel SSD.

Advanced Host Controller Interface (AHCI) supports Native Command Queuing (NCQ). The X-25M takes advantage of NCQ for better performance.

You will get more speed with AHCI.
