Howdy Everyone. Just picked up the Intel 750 1.2TB SSD card. Installed it on my X99 Asus Rampage V board and installed Windows 7 X64 without a problem. However, I am seeing a boot performance issue. This drive is taking about 25 seconds to boot, approximately 13 seconds longer than my Samsung 850 EVO. Did a little Googling on this and apparently, I am not the only one. I have read several reviews and the ones that measure boot time / performance will say this is the slowest SSD to boot. I have provided the link below as an example.

Intel - Is this going to be fixed in a future firmware release? I wont be able to justify keeping this card if first generation SSD's still outperform in terms of booting.
Thanks,

I had already emailed Intel & ASrock before the purchase of this SSD and I was told it was compatible, it worked find before the firmware update.

Hello Loxa,
In this case, you might want to check with the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support if there are any BIOS or other system updates available for your system. Also install the NVMe* driver mentioned before.
If the issue persists, please http://www.intel.com/p/en_US/support/contactsupport Contact Support to engage your nearest support center.

Hi jonathan,
Just wondering, is any further work planned on improving boot speed? Or was the last attempt the extent of what can possibly be done via firmware?

Hello Qwinn,
The last firmware version includes an update that improves boot times significantly. Currently, we can't confirm if there will be a similar improvement with future firmware releases, however, we are continuously working to improve our products.
Please be aware that the longer boot time is due to longer initialization time on PCIe* devices, and in part because of the data center-like nature of the drive. So, the Intel® SSD 750 Series take longer to boot in comparison to SATA drives.

Updated to latest firmware with Data Center Tool. Was quite scary because i've never done it before due to this being my first Intel SSD, but it worked out just fine.
Output after update:
C:\isdct>isdct show -intelssd
