SSD specifics request.

Does anybody have specific information on page size and erase block size of the following SSD drives:

Please note, that I'm not asking about partition alignment etc. I need to know these parameters to optimize my filesystems.

Given that Intel does not disclose Page and Block Sizes of their SSDs to public and having in mind Intel document titled "Partition Alignment of Intel ® SSDs for Achieving Maximum Performance and Endurance", is it correct to assume that Intel considers aligning partitions to 1 MB (per document referenced) by end-user to be sufficient for performance and endurance without the knowledge of Page and Block Sizes, which would enable end-users to configure filesystems on SSDs to arrange data in chunks equal to Block Size to minimise wear?

We have updates regarding your inquiry. The information on the https://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/technology-briefs/ssd-partition-alignme... partition alignment document is intended for Intel® SSD Data Center family, not consumer drives such as the Intel® SSD 540s and 520 Series. However, your drives have a similar structure and the recommendations there could apply to them as well. I was able to get authorization to share the page size for the Intel® SSD 540s, which is 16KB. As for the Intel® SSD 520, this is a legacy drive and available information is limited. Both drives sector size is 512 bytes.Best regards,Eugenio F.

For anyone interested actual information follows:

I have tried flashbench on both devices and it seems that they both use 4K page size as there was no noticeable measurements' differences above 4K.

Also I have unscrewed my 540s Series SSD and identified that it uses one 256MB RAM chip and four of H27QEG8NDM5R chips, which per SK Hynix datasheet have a 4MB Block Size.

As for the other SSD - didn't unscrew it just yet.
