I want to erase the data on my SSD as best I can.
The secure erase function in the toolbox just keeps telling me I need to unplug/plug the drive to unlock it - but this doesn't work.
It's a second hand drive, if there are any special codes I need, I haven't got them.
What to do folks ?

Hi GreatApe,
Let me help you with this.
Please note that Windows can block the secure erase functionality on some systems. I recommend you creating a Linux Live CD or USB stick and follow the directions here:

Thanks I tried it and it worked perfectly. I didn't need to use a live CD I just used my regular ubuntu install and it worked no problem.
