Issues Lenovo and SSD D3-S4610 7.68TB

I have tried this disk in multiple (5 different age and models lenovo) and it ends with:

2100: Detection Error on HDD0 (Main HDD)

In the same laptops samsung evo and pro, intel 320, intel 520, ocz vertex, agility. All works.

The intel S4610 does work on some USB adapters and also in the stationary lenovo. I changed the drive to use less power down to power governor 2.

Is there something special due to size? sector beeing 4kn or something like that?

I should also tell you this is the second S4610 that behaves the same. The first one did not even work on any USB adapters and it failed to respond in the stationary desktop computers after a while. So it got replaced under warranty since the drives are just bought 2 weeks ago.

Hello, xayide.

Thank you for contacting Intel Community Support.

I received your thread regarding the error message shown after connecting the S4610 Series, I will be glad to assist you.

There are no reports about similar issues with this SSD model or other drives, so it could be strictly system-related.

Knowing that you have tested the SSD in several systems and it works in some of them, but not in others, tells me that the drive should be fine, especially if you can copy/paste or transfer files to/from the drive (keep in mind that the use of adapters/enclosures is not supported nor validated by us).

Additionally, since this is the second drive that shows the same behavior, something else could be happening.

Looking for the error online, which you most likely already tried, I found some posts from several Lenovo users in different forums that describe this as being related to the laptop battery and/or CMOS battery, and they seem to overcome the error after removing the battery for a few minutes to clear old data, but this is not validated nor tested by us, so you can try this at your own risk.

Our best recommendation right now is to check with Lenovo if they can provide you with more information about this error, and also if they can provide you with other recommendations or compatibility details that we may not be aware of.

I will proceed to close the thread, but please feel free to open a new one if you require any type of assistance from Intel in the future, or contact us via any of the other support methods:
