Can't post a support ticket!

The Solidigm support form at https://support.solidigm.com/en-US/anonymous-createcase/ seems broken. No matter what I write, it displays an error message saying that I've entered more than 11000 characters. This happens even if I just enter "hi". What I tried to post is only 906 characters:

I have an ASUS RS700A-E11-RS4U server with a KMPP-D32 motherboard (Milan version; 2x EPYC 7763). Every 5 seconds my Solidigm D5-P5336 PCIe 4.0 SSDs throw a bunch of correctable PCIe AER (Advanced Error Reporting) issues, filling up dmesg and slowing down IO. Others with the same AER error mask have solved it by changing their PCIe link speed in the BIOS to Gen 3 instead of Gen 4. But my motherboard doesn't seem to have that setting anywhere. setpci doesn't allow changing the link speed either. I don't think it's a defective hardware issue because it is happening exactly the same on two separate SSDs.

For connecting the SSDs to my PCI Express slots, I have two Startech PEX4SFF8639 U.2 to PCIe Adapters.

Attempts to change the Linux kernel command line on Proxmox VE 8.3 have not resolved the problem. I can suppress the error messages with the "noaer" flag, but then the AERs are still happening.

Dear  allquixotic,

Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We apologize for the inconvenience you're experiencing with the support form. We have verified that the form is currently functioning correctly, so it might be a browser-specific issue. Please try clearing your browser cache or using a different browser to access the form.

Regarding the issue with your Solidigm D5-P5336 PCIe 4.0 SSDs here are a few troubleshooting steps you might consider:

  1. Firmware Update by our tool  Solidigm™ Storage Tool

  2. BIOS Settings: Although your motherboard does not offer the option to switch PCIe link speeds, it's worth checking for any other relevant BIOS updates or settings that might impact PCIe performance.

  3. Alternative Adapter: If possible, test the SSDs with a different model of U.2 to PCIe adapter. This can help rule out any issues specific to the Startech PEX4SFF8639 adapters. Additionally, if it works for you, please try connect your SSDs directly, without any adapters.

  4. Contact Motherboard Manufacturer: Since the issue pertains to BIOS limitations, contacting the manufacturer for guidance or a potential BIOS update could provide a solution.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, please let us know here in the forum. We are committed to assisting you further and can initiate a support case on your behalf using your forum email.

Please feel free to get in touch with us if you have any queries.

Kind regards,
Gleb
