Hi 3000022803871.5649231140855432E12,
Thank you for your reply to the Intel® SSD.
We have received the SMART data and as we can see, your hardware is working as expected.
Intel performs compatibility tests for several manufacturers; you can find further details in the following Link: http://compatibleproducts.intel.com/ProductDetails?activeModule=Memory%20and%20Storage# your motherboard has not been tested/validated by Intel; this doesn’t means your hardware will not perform as needed.
If there is anything else we can help you with, please let us know.
Have a nice day

First of all, here's a link to a good introduction to S.M.A.R.T. (including its problems): https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S.M.A.R.T. As mentioned in this introduction, a problem with the S.M.A.R.T. specification is that, with only a few exceptions, there are no set requirements regarding what attributes are to be provided and how they are used. Implementations differ considerably across the many manufacturers. A common fault in tools that display S.M.A.R.T. attributes is that they do not take into account the differences in attribute usage on a vendor-by-vendor basis. As a result, they often display the wrong title for the attribute and/or misinterpret the raw data provided for this attribute.
Next, let's look at the datasheet for the Intel 545s Series SSDs. I found a copy online here: **** Link Removed **** (this is actually an Intel-confidential document that really shouldn't be there).
From this document, I extracted a summary of the attributes supported:
As you can see from the datasheet (and my summary), some of the attributes listed by your tool are handled incorrectly and others are not even supported by these drives.
Now, to your particular questions,
- For this drive series, Intel uses only attribute 190 to provide drive temperatures. I have no idea where this tool came up with this attribute 236, but it isn't supported or exposed by this drive series.
- Similarly, attribute 252 is not one exposed by the drive series, so I cannot tell you what it means.
Hope this helps,
...S
