I recently added 5 P4600 4TB NVME slices on my DL580. My boss wants to make sure the data is encrypted. I know the drives support 256aes but how do I enable it?
Thanks,
Rob

Hi culver23,
Thank you for contacting our support community. We understand your concern regarding the encryption on your Intel® SSD DC P4600 Series. We would like to inform you that the Intel® SSD DC P4600 Series is a Self-Encrypting Drive (SED). This means the drive is always encrypting the user data stored on the media. This is true for all our SSDs. If you want to set a password protected encryption, you can use the software-based solutions such as BitLocker*, MacAfee* Drive Encryption or ATA security password. Also, you can set up a password in the BIOS for the SSD.Please let us know if there is something else we can assist you with.Regards, Junior M.03-01-2018 09:54 AM
