Hi, I bought a 525 series Intel SSD 120GB that I was trying to use with my Intel DH77KC motherboard in windows 7. I first installed the SSD and it showed up for a day in the BIOS but I could not install Windows 7 onto it. It was never recognized after windows was installed on a HDD. Now its gone from the bios, when starting the computer with it installed the bios hangs for a few minutes, without the SSD it boot very quickly. I'm thinking the SSD might be broken. It was purchased through Intel's EPP site. Any suggestions on how to make it work?

Hello prt,
I am sorry for the issue you encountered.
I would like to suggest you to check that your Intel® SSD has the proper heat dissipation and the chassis has sufficient air flow.
If the drive does not appear in BIOS anymore in spite of the indications above you may contact your local Intel® support team for further assistance.

More than a year later and there is not even an acknowledgment from intel that issue was confirmed. I am also affected with this bug and I would definitely appreciate any move with this case.

prt,
I am experiencing a similar issue. I'm attempting to install Windows 8.1 on my DH87MC MB with the 525 mSATA. Whenever I format the SSD and start the OS installation, I get the following error message:
"Windows could not format a partition on disk 0. The error occurred while preparing the partition selected for installation. Error code:0x80070057"
The only way I've been able to get the SSD to show back up is to completely remove all power from the machine.
Hope this helps.
