Recent 80GB G2 has 1 bad sector

I recently bought an X25M G2 (80GB) and after cloning my OS (ubuntu) onto it, I also upgraded to the latest firmware. I noticed SMART reports one (1) bad sector.

model = SSDSA2M080G2GN

firmware = 2CV102HD

Questions:

1) is this normal? My gut feeling says it isn't

2) Should I RMA the drive? Can I RMA it or is there some minimum number of bad sector requirement (like some LSD manufacturers have with dead pixels)?

I moved back to my velociraptors for now until I regain confidence that this SSD isn't going to die on me.

thanks

Peter

Hello, I would like to let you know that there are no bad sectors in a Solid State Drive, this could be a reading information from the SATA controller, the recommendation on this case is to perform a low level format at the Solid State Drive using secure erase, you can download this bootable tool from the following link:

http://cmrr.ucsd.edu http://cmrr.ucsd.edu try again the Solid State Drive and if the issue persist please contact the Solid State Drive support at the following phone number: 916 377 7000 option 6.
