Hello,
I am starting an OC'd X58 build, and am looking towards Intel Mainstream SSD's. ince the price come out to about the same, and while I am quite experienced with raid, I don't know the ins and outs of SSD's, will I get better performance with 4x 80gb SSD's in RAID0 or 2x 160's in RAID 0 (of course having standard drives as data backups? This will be on an integrated ICH10R controller.
Advise?

Hello, I would like to let you know that if you use raid with an SSD in any array or any configuration, eventually you will lose performance since the trim command cannot be enabled using raid, this is a hardware limitation so it does not matter actually what chipset or brand you use.
If you want to know more about the trim command please check the following link: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2010/02/04/windows-7-ssd-performance-and-trim/1 http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/storage/2010/02/04/windows-7-ssd-performance-and-trim/1

Hi, I'm curious as to why you state that the lack of ability to trim on a raid configuration is a hardware limitation. I thought it was a driver issue that Intel was working on? If it is a hardware limitation is it the SSD? Controller?
