P4510 questions

cemara
New Contributor

We're currently evaluating 8tb p4510 for our new replacement drives.

However there are several forum posts reporting it has low write speeds

https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/p4510-1tb-good-or-bad.26240/post-243309

https://www.reddit.com/r/sysadmin/comments/b4czcr/40000_server_with_nvme_raid_performs_horribly/

And there's also issue with drive locking up

https://forums.servethehome.com/index.php?threads/new-intel-nvme-p4510-in-disable-logical-state-afte...

So my questions are:

1. Have these issues been resolved in newer batch / newer firmwares?

2. Regarding the warranty, Assuming i'm buying the drive from US,  and i want to RMA it, would i need to send it back there or does intel have representative in Indonesia (my country)?

Hello,  cemara.

Good day,

Tank you for contacting the Intel Community Support.

I checked your ticket regarding the P4510 Series, I will be glad to assist you.

I could not find reports about problems or known issues affecting this SSD family, but is always recommended to make sure the SSD firmware is updated to the latest version and the latest NVMe driver is installed.

I still checked the threads you mentioned and the first one has a positive comment and a negative one, but nothing to be actually considered an SSD issue. For the second one, it is pretty lengthy, and involves many different variables, but the thread author indicates the drives reach performance specifications (drive specs) running outside of the configuration he is attempting.

About your warranty question, you will reach a different support area depending on your location after submitting your support request ticket, the warranty policy and replacement options may vary depending on your location.

If you have any other questions and I can be of assistance please let me know.
