Hello p1800,

If the drive is new, there should be no reason to believe it is failing. The main issue I noticed is the version of the tool you are using to get the SMART details.

The log indicates that you are using Smartmontools 5.43 that was released on 2012, the Intel® Solid-State Drive Pro 1500 Series was released in 2013. Using an older application normally causes "Unknown Attributes" and inaccurate reporting. The recommended tools to check the SMART details are https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/18455/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Toolbox Intel® SSD Toolbox, orhttps://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/24007/Intel-SSD-Pro-Administrator-Tool Intel® SSD Pro Administrator Tool, which are available for Windows*. However, if you are using a Linux host, we would advise you to use the most recent version of http://www.smartmontools.org/ Smartmontools.

Checking the information, the RAW value for End to End Error detection count appears to be "0", and the Available Reserved Space also looks normal since the Normalized value decreases from 100 to 0 as the drive's reserved space is used; so it is weird for it to show Pre-failure

Considering this, it is recommended to use the most recent version of Smartmontools, or one of the Intel applications for Windows. Then compare the information to the SMART attributes described in pages 20-22 of the http://www.intel.com/content/dam/www/public/us/en/documents/product-specifications/ssd-pro-1500-seri... Intel® Solid-State Drive Pro 1500 Series Product Specifications.
