Intel toolbox does not show the intel p3600 ssd

Intel SSD is working fine with Win 8.1/64 OS and ASUS X99 Deluxe motherboard. Installed Intel Toolbox v3.2.3 and Intel SSD is not recognized. My external HD shows up as other drives. Tried refresh and re-launch of toolbox but still no Intel SSD. Moved SSD to 3 different PCIe3.0 slots (all are set as Gen3 in BIOS) with same toolbox results. Device manger storage controllers shows ASUS Bot storage driver, Intel P3600 SSD w/1.1.0.1004 driver and MS storage space controller. Disabled ASUS driver, re-booted and still no Intel SSD in toolbox. Would like to use toolbox to optimize SSD so would appreciate help to get Intel SSD recognized in toolbox.

Hello GeorgeB,

Please know that our Intel® Solid-State Drive DC P3600 Series and Intel® Solid-State Drive DC P3700 Series are not designed to be accessible when using the Intel® Solid-State Drive Toolbox.

Your best option is to use our Intel® SSD Datacenter Tool found in this link: https://downloadcenter.intel.com/Detail_Desc.aspx?DwnldID=23931 Intel® Download Center

Let us know if you need any more assistance.

Couldn't Intel have developed an easier gui type installation instead of one from the dark ages of DOS? Went to search, keyed cmd, ran as administrator and get command prompt c:\windows\system32. I have not used the command prompt in many years. Can you guide me through the process? The unzipped 2.2.0 data center tool is in C:\Users\George\SkyDrive\Downloads\IntelDataCenterTool_2_2_0_Win\Intel SSD Data Center Tool x64 -v2.2.0.400 .exe. Thanks. George B

Hello GeorgeB,

Currently, the management of the Intel® Solid-State Drive DC P3600 Series drives can only be done using the command line interface of the Intel® SSD Datacenter Tool, because this type of drive is targeted to be used mainly in data center environments and the preferred method for this type of environment is normally CLI, because commands can be easily integrated into scripts for management and monitoring. You can find all the detailed information on command syntax in the Intel® SSD Datacenter Tool user guide found in this link: http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23931/eng/intel_ssd_data_center_tool_2_2_x_user_guide_331961-001.pdf http://downloadmirror.intel.com/23931/eng/intel_ssd_data_center_tool_2_2_x_user_guide_331961-001.pdf

We thank you for all your comments and feedback. We understand your concern regarding the need for a GUI application to manage this drive and we will notify the proper channel about this, so your request can be taken into consideration for possible future releases.
