Forthcoming M.2 interface cable for 750-series 2.5" NVMe SSD

For the forthcoming M.2 interface cable to be shipped (under a separate SKU) with the 750-series 2.5" NVMe SSDs; will this be available with alternate mounting/securing holes (at the 2260 mark in particular), or can the interface board be drilled out in that position? I want to use this drive (once the proper M.2 interface cable is available) with a MSI miniITX board, but said board only supports up to a 2260 M.2 for proper securing… Please advise…!!!

Boil,

Thanks for posting in our forum, we would like to know if you are referring to our current U.2 to M.2 via Hyper kit?, if that is the case, then you can order it here: http://click.intel.com/sff-pcle-ssd-cable.html SFF PCle SSD Cable - SSD Spare Parts.

Please let us know if you are referring to a different cable.

I would like to use the above cable/adapter/whatever with a MSI miniITX motherboard; one which, for what reason I will never know; only has securing holes at the 40mm & the 60mm locations for the M.2 SSD slot…

Might the above pictured include a pre-drilled/finished hole for securing to the 60mm location?

Or, if not finished from the factory, is it safe to drill at previously mentioned location?

Thanks!

Boil,

We have verified the information and we can tell you that the only cable option for M.2 that we will be offering is 80mm length (2280). At the moment we are not planning on making any other cables/SKUs to support shorter M.2 system slot configurations. If you have any further questions, please contact our support department https://customercare.intel.com/?lang=en-US here.NC
