Benchmark read graphs do not show flat line

Benching with HDTach/HDTune, I'm not getting the flat relatively smooth lines on my read graphs that I was expecting and have seen in reviews of this SSD and others.

Do I have a bum drive? I have a few large dips in performance, one right near the beginning of the drive.

It is a Win 7 OS drive, however, the testing is done when the drive is not the current running OS, I use a Raptor with Win XP to bench the Intel 160 G2.

SSD was made in March of this year. No RAID. AHCI enabled (ICH10R). Intel Toolbox ran.

I have the same issue on my x25-m 80gig ssd drive. While everyone elses test the line is almost perfectly flat. Mine goes up and down like a heart beat monitor.

All the other test seem fine and everything checks out on intel's toolbox. Mine is the main os boot drive. So perhaps someone has some answers to this isse or even why it is happening.

Can you capture a screen shot of the results and post?

Thanks.

deusfaux,

JamesWalker had an interesting point. Were you able to try testing based on his recommendations? And if so, what were the results?

Brady (Intel SSD guy)
