510 Series and HP 6560b

I saw earlier the problems with MacBooks, right now I am facing the same problem with HP NetBook 6560b. I got three for our little development department, thinking it would be good to get a decent upgrade with some nice SSDs. Was recommended the Intel 510 Series, from someone who used that in their Dells.

Well - the 6560b do not see the drives in BIOS. At first I beleived that I just did not insert it right, but a few attempts and swapping drives back and forth (also checking the 510s in a desktop) made me understand that its a compability issue.

One and a half days later after getting "support" from HP, a blank statement of "We do not support harddrives not bought from HP".

So thank you very much!

But what is the reason for this, what makes this drive so hard to recognize?

A different SSD (Kingstone 32GB , had it passing my hands) worked - so its not that the HP only recognizes their own short list?
