X25-M SSD manufacture date and usage

Hi All,

I'm looking to buy an 160GB X25-M SSD (SSDSA2MH160G1GN) advertised as brand-new.

- is there any way to find out its date of manufacture using ISN/SA/WWN? (prior to buying it)

- is there any way to make sure it's never been used indeed once I have it?

Hello DmitriyA,

Let me help you with this.

The numbers printed on the layer will work when replacement is needed but I regret to say that there is no way to know the Date Of Manufacturing using those number; however, I can confirm all SSDs are completely new and we do not refurbish SSDs.

It is also important to for your to check the place of purchase or the vendor. But if you get it from Intel® or any of Intel® retailers or if the box is seal for sure it will be a brand new product.

Thanks for your response back then - I recall having some issue when trying to get back to you like thread seemed closed and have just come across it while preparing another Q.

What SSD health check application would you recommend (ideally made by Intel) that'd help understand whether an Intel SSD was likely in use or is brand-new?

Also wondering where I can find a comparison between G1 (50nm) and G2 (34nm) Intel SSDs, e.g. SSDSA2MH080G1GC vs SSDSA2MH080G2C1?

- assuming Intel Toolbox = Intel SSD Toolbox - perhaps I just overlooked all the details it provides, will try again then
