ubuntu 14.04 can't detect Intel SSD DC S4500 Series (3.8TB, 2.5in SATA 6Gb/s, 3D1, TLC)

I bought S4500 disk with 3.8Tcapacity from https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B075HRYWC4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Amazon.com: Intel DC S4500 3.80 TB 2.5" Internal Solid State Drive - SATA: Electronics

But ubuntu 14.04.5 can't detect it while ubuntu 16.04.3 could. Since I won't upgrade system, is there any easy way to recognize it ?

Moreover, I tried to install linux-image-4.4.0-98-generic, but still failed to detect.

Thank you for your interest in the Intel® SSD DC S4500 Series. I understand that the Ubuntu 14.04.5 OS in your system is not detecting your SSD. You mentioned that you tested the SSD using Ubuntu 16.04.3 and didn't experience any issues, did you checked the firmware version of the SSD? Is it possible for you to perform a firmware update (SCV10111), using the Intel® SSD Data Center Tool (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27497?v=t https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/27497?v=t), on one of the validated operating systems? Additionally, in order to provide the adequate assistance, please share the report generated by the Intel® System Support Utility for the Linux* Operating System (https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26735/ https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/26735/). In addition to what was previously mentioned, I would also like to point out that since Intel® DC SSDs are designed with a server environment in mind (OS included), the tested and validated Linux* operating systems for your specific SSD are the following:

• Red Hat* Enterprise Linux* 6.5, 6.7, 7.1, and 7.2
• SUSE* Linux* Enterprise Server 11 SP4, 12 SP1
• CentOS* 64bit 6.3, 6.5, and 7.0
