This week I bought a Intel 530 series 180 GB for my Medion Akoya E1232T notebook to replace the 500gb hdd (installed: Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10 dual boot)
The product code of the 530 series = SSDSC2BW180A4K5 / version G88473-201.I prefered a clean install, so I downloaded from the Microsoft site Windows 10 ISO (USB setup)Unfortunately Windows 10 did not recognised the SSD and asked for a driver.I have tried the same with Ubuntu 14.04 and 16.04 and they both recognised the SSD and work both very fast with the SSD.
I also tried to update the firmware of the SSD but the ISO (Fissdfut_2.1.5.iso) did not boot. All other ISO's (Linux, Windows ect boot without any problems)
Has anyone a solution for me so that I can install Windows 10?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Frank58,
Thanks for the update. It seems the system is not able to load Windows® 10 on the SSD, maybe for compatibility issues. You may want to try with them and check further specs but this is what it seems, because as you can check, the SSD does work fine in a different computer and with different operating systems.Regards,NC10-01-2016 10:35 AM
Hi,
I asked Medion customer support if they have a list of compatible ssd's for the Medion Akoya e1232t.
Medion answered is as follows: hardware different than original will not supported. They referred to a new site : Medion Service Community (http://community.medion.nl/ http://community.medion.nl/) where customers can help each other with hardware problems ect.I will give this a try.10-03-2016 05:42 AM

Hi,
I have learned from the Medion Support Community that with the 530 series works fine in most situations, but Windows can in some cases not be installed.

I have tried a brand new Kingston Fury 120GB SSD and Windows 10 find this drive directly and can installed.
I think there is a problem in the firmware in combination with Windows 10 and the Medion Akoya. Please note that the latest firmware is installed on the 530 series.Any suggestions.

Hello Frank58,
There is one more thing you may try which is to install a driver to check if the installation can see the drive. Please download the driver from https://downloadcenter.intel.com/downloads/eula/25165/Intel-Rapid-Storage-Technology-Intel-RST-RAID-... this link and put the files in a USB flash drive. Once you get to the screen "Where do you want to install Windows", please click browse and select the USB flash drive where you put the files downloaded before. If the drive is not detected, you could try to ask the computer manufacturer so they can verify if there is another driver to try or if they know any other way to make it work.Regards,NC
