I have Socket 775 and Gigabyte MB EX38-DS4 chipset X38 and Southbridge ICH9R. My MB is discontinued, but go to Gigaybyte forum and ask what present motherboards support AHCI, probably all I would assume. http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/ http://forums.tweaktown.com/f69/

I just called Intel to ask about AHCI, and the customer service rep said "all new Intel motherboards support AHCI".

All recent desktop Intel storage controllers support AHCI but some OEM/companies may not provide the option of enabling it.
