Hello,
I recently won an Intel 510 120GB SSD. I currently have a Sony Vaio VGN-NS290J Laptop with an Azzio 3.5" / 2.5" Docking Station Attached. Can I run the new SSD with the docking Station by swaping my Terrabyte drive w/ the new SSD? You can email me your replies to mailto:cio@transatlanticcreations.com cio@transatlanticcreations.com.
Thank You,
Mark E. Burkhardt

Yes, you can run a SSD in a docking station....
However:
1) Is this a USB 2.0, USB 3.0, or eSATA dock? If it is USB 2.0, there is no point since a HDD already saturates the connection.
2) If it is USB, the Intel SSD Toolbox will probably not work on the drive.
3) There will be no TRIM support (used to maintain the SSD performance over time)

This is a USB 2.0. Do I need an eSATA Docking Station?

Mark... for clarity, do you plan on placing your SSD or HDD in the dock?

Both. I currently have a laptop. Once I move, I will be building a new desktop.
