Hello machound,

Thank you for your question.

Please keep in mind that our https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/consumer-family.html consumer solid-state drives only support the standard 512 byte block size. Since your Intel® SSD 600p Series falls under this categorization, you will not be able to set your block size to 4K.

For an Intel® SSD that will allow for block size adjustment you will need to look into one of our Data Center P Series models, like the http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/solid-state-drives-dc-p3100-series.html Intel® SSD DC P3100 Series -which also comes in the M.2 form factor:

https://www-ssl.intel.com/content/www/us/en/solid-state-drives/data-center-family.html Intel® SSD Data Center Family (you will need to scroll down a bit for the product comparison).

Additionally, our Intel® SSD Data Center Tool will only support the SSD models listed on the description, all of which are Data Center models with the only exception being the Intel® SSD 750 Series.

Best regards,
Carlos A.

Intel 600p 512GB M.2 change to 4K block size

I have a 600p 512GB M.2 SSD working fine in a Gigabyte Z170x motherboard. I would like to change the block size from the default 512 to 4K, but apparently the SSD Data Center Tool version 3.0.3 does not recognized the 600p device, even though Window 10 does. When I issue the command from the Administrator command prompt: isdct show -intelssd , I get "No results". I was able to upgrade to the latest firmware with the Intel SSD Toolbox and all other functionality seems to be fine. The 600p is not specifically listed for the SSD Data Center Tool in the Detailed Description, but it is listed in the valid product list. Any suggestions?

Thanks.
