I think I need to be more explicit about what I'm trying to do. If am configuring a system with a Gigabyte GA-X99-Designare EX system board (http://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/GA-X99-Designare-EX-rev-10# ov GA-X99-Designare EX (rev. 1.0) - GIGABYTE - Motherboard , Graphics Card , Laptop ,Tablet , Mini-PC , Server , PC Perip… ) which has two onboard U.2 interfaces (U2_32G_1 and U2_32G_2). I need to know which is the correct SSD 750 part number to plug into these ports.

See references to "U2_32G_1"/"U2_32G_2", especially page 28 of the manual (http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-x99-designare-ex_e.pdf http://download.gigabyte.us/FileList/Manual/mb_manual_ga-x99-designare-ex_e.pdf)

The ordering information for the SSD 750 references two different part numbers (SSDPE2MW012T4X1 and SSDPE2MW012T4M2) but it is not clear what distinguishes these items.

Hello Aenagy,
We understand you'd like to know the differences between the two SKUs for the Intel® SSD 750 series. For you to be aware the product code: SSDPE2MW012T4M2 is the one that includes the U.2 to M.2 cable, while the other code: SSDPE2MW012T4X1 includes the old U.2 cable.Hope this information is useful, in any case, feel free to ask us any other doubts.Regards,Nestor C

Hi Aenagy,
The cable that was included before is an SFF-8639 connector, you can take a look http://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/solid-state-drives/consumer-ssds/000005797.html here for a picture. Now, the cable we used to send required your motherboard to accept the SFF 8643, mini-SAS HD connector. Some manufacturers also included a hyper kit, so you could install it properly. For now, the cable that it is included is http://click.intel.com/u-2-to-m-2-ssd-cable-replacement-u-2-to-m-2-cable-for-intelr-ssd-750-series.html this oneRegards,Nestor C

Hello Aenagy,
The system you are trying to put the SSD on is perfect for the SSD you have, as you noted there, it comes with two U.2 ports where you can easily just plug the cable and it will work fine. The part number for this one is SSDPE2MW012T4X1, the good thing is that you don't need any extra hyper-kits or anything.Regards,Nestor C
