I am planning to use the Intel 750 Series AIC 400GB PCI-Express 3.0 x4 MLC Internal Solid State Drive (SSD) SSDPEDMW400G4X1 as the Boot/OS drive on my ASUS Maximus IV Extreme board, are these compatible? Thanks, Chuck

This MB is too old, no NVME support in BIOS, old UEFI version to boot.

Chuck,

It's possible that you would be able to use the SSD 750 as a DATA drive. It is not possible to use it as a boot drive. The motherboards with BIOS that fully supported NVMe boot came on Intel Z97 and X99 chipset boards.... just last year. This year the Intel Z170 chipset based motherboards also have full support.

Regards,

Warren
