topic old X-25 M shows 8 MB in Solid State Drives (NAND)

Hello,

My old X-25 M just started showing its only 8 MB when I plug it in. I tried doing the firmware update but the tool just checks the firmware version and exits. I would like to force the firmware update. Does anyone know how to use the firmware update tool such that I can manually apply a update? I hate when automatic tools don't have a manual option for power users!

Thanks,

Hello, nwellinghoff.

Thank you for contacting Intel® Memory & Storage Support.

As we understand, you need assistance with your Intel® SSD X25 Series. If we infer correctly, we will appreciate it if you can review the following information:

Due to this product being discontinued, Intel® Customer Service no longer supports inquiries for it, but perhaps fellow community members have the knowledge to jump in and help. You may also find the Discontinued Products (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/discontinued-products.html) website helpful to address your request.

There are some self-service options like the following article:

- How to Update Firmware on Intel® SSDs with the Intel® Firmware Update Tool (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000021095/memory-and-storage.html)

- Firmware Versions for Intel® Solid State Drives and Intel® Optane™ Memory (https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/support/articles/000017245/memory-and-storage.html)

We will not close this thread, and you can still post and share your findings with the community. If you need assistance related to another Intel® product, please do not hesitate to contact us back by opening a new thread, and please submit a new question. We will no longer monitor this thread.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Best regards,
