Hello fb69,

Please let us know how it goes. Also, remember that once the SSD is properly connected and the configuration is correct, the new data drive will be shown in Windows* Disk Management, here you will be able to manage and format partitions on your new drive.

Hello,
Yesterday i have tried to install my Intel 750 ssd Nvme without sucess on a Asus Z170 Deluxe (last generation Skylake with nvme support). It is not seen in the Bios and by Windows 10. I' have the last Bios 604.I' have tried by the Asus Hyper card included (enabled in the Bios) and by the Pcie card included with the motherboard on pcie_3 slot.In the bios, i have tried under CSM: with Legacy and UEFI first options. Windows 10 not seen the SSD in Windows...By google, others people seem to have the same issue.I don't understand why this SSD in not seen on this motherboard.

Can you test this SSD with last Asus motherboards
Can you help me ?

Thanks

Hello fb69,

The Intel® SSD 750 Series was originally recommended to be used with Intel® Z97 Chipset, or an Intel® X99 Chipset. Systems with the Intel® Z170 Chipset were recently released so we will need to wait for new documentation regarding compatibility.

Checking the https://www.asus.com/Motherboards/Z170-DELUXE/ Asus* Z170-Deluxe website, it supports 2.5-in NVMe drives using the Hyper kit. Please review the following recommendations as they may help:

- The Intel® SSD 750 Series is a PCIe device and requires a driver to work properly. In some cases, it may not be detected without the https://downloadcenter.intel.com/download/23929/Intel-Solid-State-Drive-Data-Center-Family-for-PCIe-Drivers Intel® Solid-State Drive Data Center Family for PCIe Drivers.

- The installation steps vary a lot depending on your motherboard, and also if you plan to use the SSD as boot device, or data drive. We advise to contact the http://www.intel.com/support/oems.htm Computer Manufacturer Support, they may be able to provide recommendations on how to use NVMe drives (with the Hyper Kit) in your system.

Here are a few documents with additional details about installation and functionality of your drive:

http://download.intel.com/support/ssdc/hpssd/sb/nvme_boot_guide_332098001us.pdf Booting an NVMe* PCI Express* Solid State Drive

http://www.intel.com/support/ssdc/hpssd/ssd-750/sb/CS-035483.htm Intel® SSD 750 Series — Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

http://rog.asus.com/415802015/asus-gaming-motherboards/intel-750-2-5-inch-ssd-with-nvme-and-asus-hyper-kit/ Intel 750 2.5-inch SSD With NVMe And ASUS Hyper Kit

I have tried many options with the help of the Asus Z170 Forum (2 pages) with no sucess.

Resolved I didn't thick that the Intel SSD with the Hyper kit need à Sata power at the end of the cable...my mistake

Later i try to boot with it. I would want to clone my Sata Samsung SSD (windows10) to the Intel with Acronis True Image home 2016 but i don't know if Acronis is able to clone between 2 # bus

Hello fb69,

It is good to know you identified the cause of the issue and that your new SSD is working correctly.

I would like to add that cloning from a SATA SSD or RAID volume to a PCIe NVMe drive such as the Intel® SSD 750 is not recommended, and a fresh install is recommended.

When you boot from a NVMe drive, it is important that uEFI drivers and specific BIOS settings are used. Existing OS installs are unlikely to have these settings.
