Hi All,

I bought one Intel SSD 535 480G for my MBP 15" 2010 mid with OS X 10.10.4.

It works well with following writing speed with trim disabled.

$ time dd if=/dev/zero bs=1024k of=tstfile count=1024

1024+0 records in

1024+0 records out

1073741824 bytes transferred in 4.190765 secs (256216192 bytes/sec)

Should I enable trim to my SSD (via "sudo trimforce enable")?

Thanks!

Hello garywang,

In this situation, we strongly recommend you to check with Apple Support about the implications of enabling TRIM with your new SSD.

http://www.apple.com/support/ Official Apple Support

Here is the information we have available about this topic:

- MAC OS-X has some security features that may prevent you from enabling TRIM for SSD's not sold by Apple.

- Intel SSD's can work normally in Apple computers using Mac OS-X, however, if TRIM is disabled this may have an impact in performance over time.

- If you have any issues enabling TRIM for your SSD, it is recommended to contact Apple Support for assistance.
