Where do I look to get the M.2 connector for my new 2.5" 750 series SSD? I have the ASUS X99-E WS motherboard. So I have a M.2 "port". But I can't seem to find out how to get the connector that sits in this port. Help!

Hello kd8owo,

Here are some facts and recommendations about this topic:

The Intel® SSD 750 Series 2.5-inch SFF is a PCIe x4 NVMe SSD. The drive itself has an SFF-8639 connector.

The retail version of this drive includes a special cable in the box that connects to the SSD's SFF-8639 connector in one side, and on the other side has an SFF-8643 connector, commonly called mini-SAS HD connector. This allows connecting the drive to a motherboard that supports PCIe Gen3 x4 connection with a mini-SAS HD connector cable.

Some motherboard manufacturers, like Asus*, have added support for the Intel® PCIe NVMe SSDs using the the Mini SAS HD connector.

Selected Asus motherboards may use the optional ASUS Hyper Kit expansion card, to add the Mini SAS HD connector using a M.2 slot with x4 PCIe support.

We advise you to contact http://www.asus.com/us/support/ Asus Support for more information about the ASUS Hyper Kit expansion card and to confirm if it will be compatible with your motherboard.

For your convenience, we would like to provide these links from Asus with more information:

*NOTE: These links are being offered for your convenience and should not be viewed as an endorsement by Intel of the content, products, or services offered there.

https://pcdiy.asus.com/2015/04/asus-z97-x99-motherboards-intel-750-series-nvme-ssds-all-you-need-to-know/ ASUS Z97 & X99 Motherboards & Intel 750 series NVMe SSDs – All You Need To Know

http://rog.asus.com/418662015/labels/product-news/asus-announces-all-x99-and-z97-motherboards-support-nvm-express-devices/ ASUS Announces All X99 and Z97 Motherboards Support NVM Express Devices

http://rog.asus.com/415802015/asus-gaming-motherboards/intel-750-2-5-inch-ssd-with-nvme-and-asus-hyper-kit/ Intel 750 2.5-inch SSD With NVMe And ASUS Hyper Kit
