Thanks Doc, having researched the current crop of motherboards they all seem to have the same spec so with the SSD being a little 'unusual' (with the mini SAS connection) thought I'd be better posting here.

I will get over to the Gigabyte site and see if I can ask the question there.

M.

Sorry, been out of the IT game for some years and not up on later generation slots/SSDs etc.

Been using my Intel 750 series drive with an Asus X99-A motherboard via an Asus Hyperkit board (M.2 to Mini SAS)

SSD Drive https://ark.intel.com/content/www/us/en/ark/products/86742/intel-ssd-750-series-400gb-2-5in-pcie-3-0-20nm-mlc.html

Motherboard has failed so looking to build another PC using the Gigabyte Z390 AUROS Pro. In the spec it says "Dual Ultra-Fast NVMe PCIe Gen3 x4 M.2 with Thermal Guard"

https://www.gigabyte.com/uk/Motherboard/Z390-AORUS-PRO-rev-10#kf

Basic Question is : How can I connect my 750 series SSD to the above motherboard (needs to be boot drive)?

Can/should I use my existing Hyper Kit board?

(It's an ASUS product and there is a HyperKit enabled option in the BIOS)

Do I need another board similar to the Hyperkit one to work with the Gigabyte board (i.e. to connect the Mini SAS plug) or onto the connector on the back of the SSD

TIA

Malcolm

With an Asus hyperkit and gigabyte board, you are in the best position to research this.

Doc
